When this compilation of the best tracks from the first two WCPAEB albums was released in 1986 it was absolutely essential for fans of '60s psychedelia. The original albums were long deleted, expensive and hard to find. Edsel did the world a great service by releasing this record. But - times change and things move on.... all the WCPAEB albums have been bootlegged, pirated and reissued many times on both vinyl and cd over subsequent decades. It's easy to get hold of their stuff now so this compilation is no longer so essential. Best to go to the source and find decent-sounding reissues of all their albums as even the later entries in their catalogue have good moments. I still worship this collection though. Not a bad track on it. If you like sunshine and harmony pop, trippy west coast vibes, shimmering psychedelia, cryptic lyrics and a really weird back-story then you can't go wrong with the WCPAEB.
