A lovely record that does sound like it was recorded in 1969 and has been unearthed but recently. Is there a point in recreating the sound of a past epoch? Well, the songs are fresh, so the emotions do not come across as clichés. To my ears, it is not a milestone like some of the sides cut by Phyllis Dillon or The Skatalites, but the music is complex and soulful and very, very enjoyable. I am quite happy and content to spend some time in the presence of such beauty. (4.25 to 4.5 stars im my books.)
